About Us

We are now on Face Book!

Here at Pecan Meadows Ranch, our puppies have lots of room to run and play.  We have plenty of shade, lots of flowers, and a great pond for fishing.   All of which makes for a great start for our puppies.  They love splashing in the pond, playing under the giant Oak and Pecan trees, as well as  chasing crickets and frogs from the gardens.

Located in the Texoma area -- 90 miles north of Dallas and 110 miles south of Oklahoma City--, we are a small family owned business.  The entire family cares for our dogs, including the children.  We feel it is important that the puppies be well socialized with children.

All of our babies are AKC babies unless otherwise noted.  It is our opinion that the AKC is the best registry with the most stringent inspections.  They also require DNA testing of stud dogs; therefore, is our preferred method of registration.  We will at times offer dual registration with both the AKC and the ACA.  We do prefer to sell our puppies with limited registration unless other arrangements have been made.

We are also in training to start competing in AKC Rally events with some of our dogs.  We find Rally to be a very rewarding sport for both the handler and the dog.  We also hope to hit the show ring in 2010!

Some of our dogs have their Canine Good Citizenship award through the AKC.  Two of these dogs, Gracie and Rhett II, do therapy work at a local retirement community.

We are also members of the Texoma Kennel Club  and can be found at their many pot-luck suppers! Thanks to Dr. Mills for being our sponsor!

We would like to thank Shirley from dashofluv.com  and  Vanita from littleskennels.com for all their support and help.  If we do not have what you are looking for, I would highly recommend either of these breeders.

We also want to give our love and appreciation to Kat, our dear friend and dog trainer.

We do not knowingly sell to puppy mills or pet shops.

Our first dachshund, Candy, came into our home over twenty years ago -- she immediately had our hearts.

Although she was a tiny little girl, she had the courage of lion.  She would protect her family at all costs and happily roamed our many acres.  Candy lived to a ripe old age and quietly died one night in her sleep.

I like to think of her waiting for me on the Rainbow Bridge.  If you have ever loved and lost a four-legged friend, I hope the following poem gives you the same comfort it has given me.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
